How can I grow my hair faster? All About Scalp Health
How can I grow my hair faster after a haircut?
My hair journey has been a wild ride. I was once clueless about hair care, believing that shampoo was all I needed. It wasn't until I discovered the unique needs of my high-porosity hair that I realised the importance of a customised hair care routine.
I am super happy with how healthy my hair is now, BUT the issue is that I cut my layers super short two months ago.
So, here I am on a hair growth journey, and I'm excited to take you along!
How to fix an unhealthy scalp
A healthy scalp is the foundation for strong, vibrant hair. If your scalp isn't in good shape, your hair won't be either. Start by prioritising scalp health to see improvements in your hair growth.
Here is an infographic for you to see the importance of scalp health:
Rosemary oil for hair growth
Rosemary essential oil strengthens circulation, prevents premature greying, and manages dandruff. It also provides relief for dry or itchy scalp.
Below, I will provide you with some research that has been done on rosemary oil and hair growth:
A 2015 study found that participants in the study showed a significant increase in hair count after six months of using rosemary oil.
Research from 2017 showed that rosemary can help manage bacterial infections.
A 2022 study stated that rosemary oil had the same effect as Minoxidil.

How to use rosemary oil for hair loss?
Essential Oil in Shampoo.
I use rosemary essential oil this way. It’s the simplest and fastest way to implement it in your routine. Add a few drops to your regular shampoo, mix well, and use it as you normally would.
Products with Rosemary Oil.
Look for hair care products that contain rosemary oil as an ingredient. Shampoos, conditioners, and hair masks with rosemary can provide continuous benefits for your hair and scalp.
I have been using Mielle's Rosemary Mint Strengthening Shampoo, which has biotin and certified organic ingredients such as coconut and babassu seed oil.
Rosemary Oil Massage.
Dilute a few drops of rosemary essential oil with a carrier oil (such as jojoba or coconut oil). Gently massage the mixture into your scalp.
Leave it on for at least 30 minutes before washing your hair. This combination will promote blood circulation and nourish the hair follicles.
I implemented this in my routine around a month ago. I have been using Mielle's Rosemary Mint Scalp and Hair Strengthening Oil.
Its main ingredients are rosemary, mint, biotin, and 30 other essential oils and extracts that can improve hair quality.
Scalp massager for hair growth.
Scalp massager can also boost your hair growth! As I did with rosemary oil, I will share with you some of the research that I found on how scalp massage boosts hair growth:
In a small 2016 study, nine men underwent a 24-week daily 4-minute scalp massage, which resulted in thicker hair than at the study's beginning.
In 2019, more research backed up these ideas. They asked 340 people about their experience with hair loss and found that those who did scalp massages twice a day, as instructed, noticed improvements.
Self-reported findings say that approximately 69% of participants reported that their alopecia had improved.

How to use a Scalp massager for hair growth?
Shampooing.
This is how I use it. Apply your shampoo as usual and use the silicone scalp massager to massage your scalp while washing. This helps remove dirt, oil, and dead skin cells, providing a thorough cleanse.
After Oil Treatment.
This is also how I use it! Before washing your hair, apply oil to your scalp and use the silicone scalp massager to massage it gently. This promotes better oil absorption, nourishing hair follicles, and maintaining a healthier scalp.
Conclusion
Taking care of your hair and promoting its growth requires patience, consistency, and the right techniques.
Everything doesn’t work for everybody - this is my personal experience and I want to share it with other people who are struggling like I was before.
As this is my hair growth journey, I will share my hair update in a few months (with before and after pics).
